Leeds Bradford International Airport is located between the cities of Leeds and Bradford in West Yorkshire. The airport is located 9 miles from Leeds and 7 miles from Bradford. Leeds and Bradford councils jointly bought a site at Yeadon in 1930, it was then opened as Yeadon Aerodrome in 1931. Scheduled flights began four years later in 1935. The first flights were to Edinburgh, Blackpool, Newcastle and the Isle of Man.
